VR Projects

Studied how to use Unity and Quest2 in a XR application developing context.

Explored users' movement - teleport/snap turn/continuous movement and turning, or users' interaction with surroundings - push/catch/poke, etc in the VR environment by developing several VR games, e.g. VR Bowling, Beat Saber, VR Escape Room.

VR Bowling

This game has reached these goals:

  • The ball can be thrown and slipped on the alley with proper sound;

  • Pins fall and make proper sounds;

  • Scoring board counts as how many pins fall;

  • Add text when all pins fall over and reset pins (after 2 seconds) ;

  • Spawn new bowling ball in Socket when the ball is removed ;

  • Add background sounds, build the scene in Blender, add textures to objects.

VR Escape Room

This game has reached these goals:

  • With more than 6 puzzles;

  • Users can control the environment (turn up/down the bg music volume; turn on/off the light);

  • Users can interact with the environment (open/close drawers/doors, lift up/throw away cushions, push the button, turn on the TV;

  • The environment can also give feedback on interactions (TV start time countdown after turning on, congrats or explosion based on game logic detecting if the user found the bomb on time )
